Kumbengo Koras does not accept orders for custom instruments at this time.

In response to the ongoing pandemic and the resulting uncertainties in our personal lives, as well as to the unpredictable global supply-situation, we find it inadvisable to commit to strict building time-lines or to make promises as to the availability of certain components or features.

We are however still building koras, with materials at hand or readily available, at a reduced pace and to our own specifications.

Instruments are being offered to pre-screened candidates, as they become available. If you wish to be added to this list, please submit a brief application via email, explaining your relationship with kora, experience level and a description of koras owned previously. You may include recordings and video links if available. You may list certain features and options, however acceptance of an application does not imply a commitment on the part of Kumbengo Koras to execute an instrument to your specifications, or within a certain time period.

Should an instrument become available that might suit your requirements we will contact you.

Currently, no down-payment is required to be added to the list, should you decide to purchase an instrument offered to you, the full price of the instrument is due within three days.

Prices for Kumbengo Koras range from 1350.-US$/(1200€) to 3500.-US$/(3150€), not including accessories, crating or shipping.

Shipping:

Ideally, the finished instrument is picked up in person at the Kumbengo Koras workshop in Jaroso, CO.

Should it be necessary to ship the instrument, either domestically or internationally, the Buyer shall make arrangements with shipping companies like UPS, Fedex or DHL or engage the services of a Freight Forwarding company or Luggage Shipper. (Kumbengo Koras will issue necessary shipping documents upon request)

Typical dimensions for a small crate are: 50in by 17in by 16in, a large crate measures 54in by 20in by 18in, dimensional weight is 59lbs, the pickup address is:

Crating: Kumbengo Koras is available for the crating and secure packing of the instrument for an added charge of 80.-. The ordered item shall be made available for pickup during business hours and Kumbengo Koras will assist with loading.

Shipping Terms: Title, liability and responsibility for the instrument transfer from Kumbengo Koras to the Buyer when the crate is placed on a delivery vehicle at the premises of Kumbengo Koras. Kumbengo Koras is not liable for claims arising from damage in shipping.

Terms and Conditions:

Terms: All sales are final.

Warranty: The instrument shall be as described in the proposal or in the images and description presented to Buyer prior to the final payment. The instrument shall be fully functional and free of defects due to faulty materials or poor craftsmanship.

Disclaimer: Certain irregularities and variations in form and appearance are to be expected as a result of the fact that instruments made by Kumbengo Koras are entirely made by hand and due to the organic nature of the materials used. Kumbengo Koras shall not be responsible for damage caused during shipping or by improper use or storage, inadequate protection during transport or damage caused by accidents once the instrument is in the possession of Buyer.

Claims: Claims for defects, damages and/or shortages must be made by Buyer in writing within a period of three (3) days after delivery of the project. Failure to make such claim within the stated period shall constitute irrevocable acceptance and an admission that Buyer fully complies with terms, conditions and specifications as stated here.

Cancellation, Returns and Refunds: Kumbengo Koras reserves the right to retain any payments received in the case an order is cancelled or the instrument is returned for reasons other than those provided for in the Warranty. The amount, time and method of delivery of a potential refund shall be at the sole discretion of Kumbengo Koras. Refunds shall only be issued after the safe and timely return of the instrument in its original condition. Buyer shall bear the cost of shipping to and fro should an instrument be returned for reasons other than those provided for in the Warranty.
